Mobile Detailer
Mobile Detailer accounts run interior, exterior, and ceramic detailing at the customer's home. Detailing is a fundamentally different pricing model than oil changes or repairs: the same package can cost twice as much on a Suburban as on a Civic, and most of your day is one or two jobs rather than ten. Mobile Service Sync's Detailer mode is tuned for that.
Starter jobs
When you finish onboarding as a Mobile Detailer we offer to seed:
- Exterior Wash and Wax
- Interior Detail
- Full Detail (Interior + Exterior)
- Ceramic Coating
- Headlight Restoration (add-on)
- Pet Hair Removal Add-on (add-on)
Each starter package ships with a five-class price ladder (car / truck / SUV / minivan / other). Review the numbers under Settings -> Service Types and adjust to your market.
Per-vehicle-class pricing
This is the big departure from the Lube and Mechanic verticals. On a Detailer account, each package can have an optional per-vehicle-class price map:
- Car - sedans, coupes, hatchbacks.
- Truck - half-ton and larger pickups.
- SUV - mid-size and full-size SUVs and crossovers.
- Minivan - minivans and full-size passenger vans.
- Other - anything else (motorcycles, work vans, oddballs).
When per-vehicle pricing is enabled on a package, the public booking widget shows the customer a class picker right after they pick the package. They tap their vehicle's class and the quoted total updates immediately. The class they picked is recorded on the work order under serviceNotes so the technician knows what to expect when they arrive.
Setting it up
- Open a package under Settings -> Service Types.
- Scroll to Per-vehicle pricing.
- Check Enable per-vehicle pricing for this service.
- Fill in the five prices (in dollars).
- Save changes.
If you leave the toggle off, the package uses its flat-rate price for every customer, same as a Lube or Mechanic account.
What you don't need
Detailer accounts skip most of the integrations that exist for parts and accounting:
- No PartsTech catalog. Add-ons are flat-rate.
- No QuickBooks Online required (you can still connect it if you want, but the starter setup doesn't push you toward it).
- No inspections gating by default. You can still attach photos to work orders manually.
The booking widget for Detailer accounts also hides the oil capacity and quart overage line items, even when the customer's vehicle returns those values from a plate lookup.
What we keep
The parts of the app that apply to every mobile service stay on:
- Booking widget, embedded snippets, and out-of-area review.
- SMS conversations and review-request automation.
- Quotes, invoices, Rainforest Pay (optional).
- Schedule view, dispatch, and on-my-way customer texts.
- Reports and the dashboard.
What to do next
Confirm your starter services and class prices
Open Settings -> Service Types, review each package, and adjust the five class prices to match what you charge. If a service genuinely should be flat-rate (some add-ons), uncheck Enable per-vehicle pricing and set a single price.
Try the booking widget
Open your public booking URL (/book/your-org-slug) in an incognito window and walk through a booking as a customer. Make sure the class picker shows up where you expect.
Publish your booking widget
Follow the booking widget guide to drop the widget on your website.
