Update Your Bank Account

Your deposit bank account is where Sync Pay sends the money you collect. If you switch banks, close an account, or open a new business account, you need to update it so your deposits keep arriving.

⚠️

Changing a deposit account is a sensitive, fraud-prone action, so it is verified before it takes effect. Plan the change a few days ahead of when you need deposits to move, and do not close your old account until at least one deposit has landed in the new one.

How to update your account

Bank account changes are handled by our support team so we can verify ownership and protect against fraud.

Have your new bank details ready

You will need the account holder name (it must match your business), the routing number, and the account number for the new account.

Contact Sync Pay support

Reach out through the in-app help or your support contact and tell us you want to change your deposit account. We will confirm your identity before making any change.

Wait for verification

The new account is verified before deposits switch over. This usually takes one to a few business days. We will let you know when it is active.

Confirm the first deposit lands

Watch for the next deposit to arrive in the new account on the Settings -> Sync Pay page. Once you see it land, it is safe to close the old account.

Avoiding interrupted deposits

  • Do not close the old account first. Keep it open until a deposit has successfully landed in the new one. Otherwise a deposit can bounce back as a returned deposit.
  • Match the account name to your business. Deposit accounts must be owned by the same legal business on your Sync Pay account.
  • Update before, not after, a bank switch. If a deposit is already in flight when your old account closes, it may be returned and delayed.

If a deposit was already returned because of an out-of-date account, see ACH Returns and Deposits and Payouts for what happens next.
