Mobile Mechanic

Mobile Mechanic accounts run flat-rate or parts-plus-labor repair jobs at the customer's home or fleet yard. Most of the oil-change-specific UI (quart math, oil viscosity capture) still works but you'll spend most of your time configuring services that mirror typical shop jobs.

Starter jobs

When you finish onboarding as a Mobile Mechanic we offer to seed:

  • Diagnostic Scan
  • Battery Replacement
  • Front Brake Pad Replacement
  • Rear Brake Pad Replacement
  • Alternator Replacement
  • Starter Replacement
  • Serpentine Belt Replacement

These are flat-rate examples to anchor your catalog. You'll likely want to clone and rename these into more specific variants (front brakes for sedans, front brakes for half-ton trucks, etc.) once you see how your customers book.

How pricing works on the booking widget

By default each mechanic service is a flat rate. For add-ons that are vehicle-specific (e.g., a serpentine belt for a particular make and model), set a PartsTech category and we'll price the part from the live catalog:

  1. Open the add-on under Settings -> Service Types.
  2. Pick a PartsTech category.
  3. Set a labor amount and a markup percentage.

The widget quotes the customer the average PartsTech retail times (1 + markup) plus labor. The number you see in Settings is the flat-rate fallback used when PartsTech can't price the part.

Inspections (recommended)

Most mechanic operators turn on Require inspections before complete (under Settings -> Inspections). When that's on, a technician can't close out a work order until the attached inspection is marked complete, which forces sign-off photos before invoicing. This protects you on disputes and gives the customer a record of what was done.

Integrations we recommend

  • PartsTech for live parts pricing on add-ons.
  • QuickBooks Online for invoicing and accounting sync. See the QBO guide.
  • Rainforest Pay for card processing.
  • Inspections to capture pre-/post-repair photos.

What to do next

Confirm your starter services

Open Settings -> Service Types and clone or edit the starter rows to match what you actually quote. Most operators end up with vehicle-class variants (sedan vs SUV vs half-ton) of the bigger jobs.

Turn on inspections gating

If you want a forced sign-off photo before invoicing, enable Require inspections before complete under Settings -> Inspections.

Connect QuickBooks Online

Run through Connect QuickBooks Online so invoices post to your books automatically.

Publish your booking widget

Follow the booking widget guide to drop the widget on your website.
